  1. If you need to edit or add text to a picture

  3. Text that appears as part of a scanned picture cannot be edited like typical text.  The letters are not characters like those typed in from a keyboard.  The letters are drawn like the rest of the picture.  You can erase that area of the picture, but the HP PicturePlace Editor software does not provide any tool for adding text to a drawing.  The Pencil tool is not designed for this purpose and you cannot use the keyboard to insert text.

  5. You may be able to add text, such as captions, to a picture by using your word processing or presentation software package.  This also allows the text to be edited and scaled.  See that word processor or presentation software's documentation to see if this is possible.
